Power reserve / accuracy issue (Breitling Avenger GMT)

Power reserve seems fine. Honestly, this watch does have issues with magnetization but it seems to go slightly fast (+9-10spd) when it does. I'll run it on the blue box again and see if it works.

Wind the watch fully - 40 turns or more and then lay it down and leave it to see how long it runs for. If it's less than 24 hours at that point then there's an issue - may simply need servicing, may be something else, but you need to establish an accurate reserve.

Simply shaking it may not be giving it enough juice to keep running, but obviously giving it a full wind should not only start it back up, but should also give it a full power reserve. If it still isn't running, then yeah, that's a big problem.

I have a habit of "challenging" my watch by testing it now and then. Recently I decided to test it's Power Reserve. I wound 40 rounds and lay it upright and untouched for 3 days, while checking for it's accuracy once every few hours. End up it stopped after 48 hours.

Update: Problem is worsening. I clocked just under 12 hours on my last wind. Shipped back to Breitling. Now I wait. Purchased a new Breitling Premier in September from an AD that isn't holding a charge. At full wind it'll tick for maybe 12-18 hours. If the power reserve seems acceptable when manually wound fully and not worn then the issue may lay with either a) your daily movement by itself being insufficient to impart full wind, and/or, b) an issue with the autowind system preventing it from winding efficiently.

I have a Breitling for Bentley Barnato that is 4 years old. Lately i've noticed that my power reserve isn't even making it 24 hours. I've never had the.

As promised, I did a test on my SuperOcean 42mm. My watch is ~2yro and has the ETA 2842 movement with IIRC, a 38hr power reserve. All in all, I was pleased. My watch was still running — and on time — after about 34hrs of sitting idle. I’m really happy with my Breirling but I checked that both the first Skyracer and my watch do not match the power reserve declared (42 hours). I performed an “experiment” with both watches and they stop after 30h aprox. Since this performance has been consistent in both watches, I do not think it is a problem with those specific units. With its power reserve of 70 hours, the timepiece can easily be taken off the wrist and set aside for an extended “time out” without any worry of its stopping, especially since the rate results are shown to be stable despite gradually falling amplitudes. Power reserve seems fine. Honestly, this watch does have issues with magnetization but it seems to go slightly fast (+9-10spd) when it does. I'll run it on the blue box again and see if it works.
