Fitting a dial to a NH35 movement. I have bought a few components to do my first watch build: Seiko NH35 movement, strapcode band, San Martin great wave dial, Namoki NMK931 case. So far I have only built a Casio AE-1200 using a bronze Kranio design case and a Vario leather strap. Anyway, I'm looking to do a dial swap on a NH35 movement with the gray spacer. Before I begin, I'm just trying to confirm how the dial is secured to the movement. - Align 3 pm position above date window next to crown stem- Press down gently to push movement legs into movement- Turn Movement until date starts to change . The dial is from raffles. More interestingly, I just dropped in a NH35 Seiko movement. After all the ado about how it was so hard all I had to do was pop off the dial feet, add 4 pieces of double sided tape to the edge of the spacer, press the dial on, put the right size hands on, and it just dropped right in without the need for a spacer. Most modern Seikos use date at 3 or 3.8. In that respect, theres no difference in the date wheel but rather the day wheel is the one to watch. If the stem lines up with both the day and days, it’s for the 3 o clock crown. The one below is for the 3.8 crown position. Any dial size should be fine, as long as it's designed to fit a NH movement. What you need to look out for is what dial size the case you're looking at will fit. The most common size is 28.5mm, but not all cases are designed for this.
